It’s exciting to see how many locations around the world you can find as VR experiences. Caves, mountains, historic buildings, tombs, and so much more are available if you know where to look. Some are in dedicated VR titles, such as Stonehenge (England) or Chernobyl (Ukraine), while others are in exotic collections of sites like Blueplanet (mountains and historic dwellings) and OtherSight (Cuba, Japan, Spain). Wouldn’t it be great if you could just search by country or location on a VR experience world map?
We thought so too! We’re excited to announce that every point contained in a reviewed VR experience is now plotted on a world map. If you’ve ever wondered if a certain region of the world has a VR title, our new exclusive map is for you! Whether a title has one or many spots, you can find them all on our map. So far, we’ve reviewed 23 apps that include VR experiences of 62 actual real-world locations.
Some restrictions apply
Not all of the apps that we review are of the real world, but most are. Some are museums with virtual collections of classical or modern artworks, and in the future, we plan to include some space environments and realistic-but-not-real locations too. Our main focus will always be non-gaming immersion and exploration, but that doesn’t mean that every location will be located on our planet. Obviously, you won’t find any of these on our map!
We want to hear from you!
We would love to get your feedback on our new VR experience world map. Let us know if it helps you to find an VR app that you didn’t know existed so you could visit a place of interest. As we add more reviews, we’ll include other locations like Patagonia, King Tut’s tomb, and Iceland. Keep checking back to find more locations!
